Welcome To The Practice

We are very sorry but due to a high level of staff absence from covid infection, we have to close Grappenhall Surgery for this week 18-21 July 2022.  All calls will be diverted to Lakeside.  Please be patient, we are working as hard as we can to answer your calls as quickly as possible. Thank you

We apologise for the delays in getting through on the telephone.  We are experiencing a huge increase in demand.  Our reception team are doing their best to deal with all calls quickly to free up the lines and take more calls but they need to give each patient the care and attention they require.

We understand that it is frustrating when there are delays getting through and when you can't get the appointment you want but it is never ok to take this frustration out on our receptionists.  They are doing a really tough job in difficult curcumstances.   Please consider the feelings of the person you are speaking to before taking your frustration out on them.

Thank you for your patientce and understanding and thank you to the majority of our patients who treat our staff with recepect and kindness.

Flu & Covid Vaccines

We are now taking bookings for flu and covid vaccines.  Please call Kat on the surgery mobile, 07851 960244 (this number is for vaccine booking only) between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday.  Alternatively, please call Lakeside Surgery after 2pm.  Please do not ring before 2pm as we are busy answering triage calls.  If you have access to our online services, please click here.  Vaccine appointments are available to book online from W/C 19th September. If you have not signed up for online access, please contact a member of our reception team. Thank you

Changes to Extended Access Services: Consultation ending 26 July 2022

Please clinic on the here https://vimeo.com/714713903 for further informartion and on the link above.

Lakeside surgery is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6:30pm. If you have an urgent problem during these times please ring the surgery. At all other times ring NHS 111. Opening times for Grappenhall Surgery are different, please see details below.

Inline with guidance from NHS England, online booking of appointments has been suspended.

Requests via eConsult for non-urgent problems can be made between 8am – 6:30pm, Monday to Friday. The practice will respond within 2 working day

In order to improve Face to Face access we have had to cut back on econsults. Therefore once we have reached capacity for the day, econsult will be switched off. You can still use econsult at 8am, alternatively phone the surgery for an appointment. You will be asked the reason for the appointment and days and times convenient to come in. All requests will be assessed by a GP and if required investigations, blood tests or imaging or onward referral may be arranged prior to an appointment with the doctor. We also have other clinicians who may be more appropriate for your problem, first contact physio, mental health practitioner, or pharmacist. Appointment can be booked up to 12 weeks in advance.

Due to increased demand for appointments and the ongoing covid situation we are operating what is known as total triage system. This is to ensure the safety of you our patients, our staff, GPs and Nurses. Your GP or nurse will review your problem and will then, depending on your needs

  • offer you advice via text

  • offer you a telephone call

  • offer you a video call

  • ask to see you in person (face to face) or

  • navigate you to other services

If you need to order a repeat prescription please order online where possible. We have a dedicated email address for prescription requests only, please email lakeside.prescriptions@nhs.net or you can post your request in the box at either surgery or through the door when the surgery is closed.

Please only attend the surgery if we ask you to. It’s important that you arrive at the time we ask you to attend and don’t forget to wear a face covering or mask. We are very sorry but we are unable to provide face coverings for patients. We also ask that you use the hand sanitiser before entering the building.

The surgery doors are open however, we must limit the number of patients in the waiting room to four at Lakeside for the safety of all our patients especially the most vulnerable.

Please note – We are open Monday – Friday, 8am to 6.30pm. eConsults are available for non-urgent matters during these hours. We aim to respond by the end of the next working day and during normal working hours. If you have an urgent medical  issue please ring the practice 01925 755050 (in hours) or NHS 111 (out of hours). For medical emergencies ring 999

When we reach capacity, eConsult will be switched off.  If your request is medical urgent for that day, please telephone the surgery. Otherwise please complete an eConsult the next working day.

For non-urgent advice outside of normal surgery hours, self-help is available via the eConsult link.

After completing the initial questions, please click on 'continue as guest' to complete your eConsult questionnaire. You DO NOT need to register with the NHS to complete an eConsult.

If you are completing an econsult for a skin or joint condition, please attach a photograph of the condition to your econsult. Thank you

eConsult and get a response from a doctor before the end of the next working day or sooner
